Video, Website & Tutorial Submission and Programming Component Opt-In

The submission and opt-in deadline is Monday, February 4, 2019 at 11:59:59pm.  Late submissions may not be judged!

Enter the URL for each item and submit them, one at a time. WAIT for the green banner confirming your submission before clicking “Submit” on the next item. If you make a mistake, submit the form again with the correct information. The last submission you make will be the official one. The same deadlines apply, so correcting a submission late will make your submission late.

If you encounter any problems, make sure to send a detailed explanation to natasha.vitale@sciencetech.ca before the submission date and time.

Dates to remember

Here are the dates you should have in your calendar!

October 29, 2018 - Preliminary Rulebook Release
The preliminary rulebook will be released on October 29, 2018. The preliminary rulebook contains rules and regulations for all components of the competition, but does not contain the evaluation forms. We’ll answer all the questions you have on the rules at the Kickoff, where we will also release the full rulebook. We’ll let you know once the preliminary rulebook is posted through our social media accounts, so stay on the lookout!
November 5, 2018 - Vertigoal 2019 Kickoff
The kickoff officially marks the beginning of the season for the participants. All schools will meet and spend the evening at Centennial Regional High School. This is where each team will receive their kit, which includes all of the motors, the control boards, the remote control units, the batteries, and a number of components that are specific to this year’s game. The playing field will also be revealed and students will have the chance to obtain measurements. *Due to space restrictions, we ask that a maximum 10 students per team attend*
November 25, 2018 - Aim Together Conference
Many successful women from different cultural backgrounds and diversifying STEM fields are present to speak to the girls and young women about their unique career path. No need to be a participant in the CRC Robotics Competition to attend. Invite all your friends! Interested parties may obtain information and register on www.robo-crc.ca/aim-together.
January 18, 2019 - Participant Workshop
Workshops are intended to provide specific training to participants in their field of interest.

January 18th workshop will happen at Dawson College in room 5D.1 and 5D.2, from 6pm to 10pm:

-6pm to 10pm: Free practice on the programming component station. Time on the station will be limited and assigned on a first come, first served basis.

-6pm: Introduction to C programming workshop. Learn how easy to code your robot using the C programming language.

-7pm: Video editing and audio mixing tips and tricks. This workshop won’t be tailored to specific softwares, but will rather cover general concepts and techniques to transform raw footage into a rocking video! Don’t be shy to bring your own footage to work with. Our team will be there to answer your questions.

-8pm:  Cable management workshop. Learn how to reduce interference for a more precise control of your robot and learn insider tips from our team of engineers and former participants for a clean, sexy and easy to repair robot electrical system.

February 4, 2019 - Website, Video, and Tutorial Submission Deadline
Having the website up and running and uploading the video to YouTube might take several hours. We therefore recommend you not to wait until the very last minute before starting the upload and going through the submission procedure. If you encounter any problems, make sure to send a detailed explanation to natasha.vitale@sciencetech.ca before the submission date and time.
